LCHS Remembers Sept. 11 and Gets Firefighter Surprise
September 11, 2009--La Cañada Flintridge, CA
La Canada High School has held a September 11 memorial service for the past seven years. But with the small of ash still lingering in the air and honest-to-goodness true heroes still driving their "hot shot" rigs through town, this year's service was even more meaningful. Lchs students and members of the Young Republicans club of La Canada Flintridge planned the event along with newly elected GOP youth leader Kevork Kurdoghlian. As participants listened to inspirational speeches given by Mayor Laura Olhasso and ASB president Mary Young, as well as a poignant rendition of "Hear My Prayer" by the Chamber Singers, they were surprised by some uninvited but truly welcome guests.
